You want to lose weight, but every time you look it up, you get a different answer. One person says cut carbs. Another says eat six small meals. Another says skip breakfast. So you end up doing nothing.
I get it. The good news is you do not need a diet. You need two numbers. Protein and calories. That is the whole start.
Let me explain both, then I will show you how one of our members used them to drop 25 pounds.
A calorie is just energy. Your food gives you energy, and your body burns energy all day long. Even sitting still, your body is burning fuel just to keep you alive.
So weight loss is really a balance. Eat a little less energy than you burn, and you lose fat. That is it. No magic and no tricks.
The problem is that most people guess. They forget the oil in the pan, the creamer in the coffee, and the little bites here and there. It all counts, and it adds up fast.
So the first number is calories. Download a free tracker on your phone and log everything you eat and drink. All of it, not most of it. Your body keeps score even when you do not.
This number matters even more, and here is why.
When you lose weight, you want to lose fat, not muscle. Protein protects your muscle while the fat comes off, so you end up strong instead of just smaller. Protein also keeps you full, so you are not fighting hunger all day.
Here is the part most people miss. Most folks are way under on protein. A good rule of thumb is about one gram of protein per pound of your goal body weight. That sounds like a lot at first, and most people are only eating about half of that. So fixing your protein is the fastest win you can get.
You have seen the influencers with their crazy rules and long lists of foods you can never eat again. You do not need any of that to start.
A diet ends, and that is why it fails you. A habit just becomes how you live. Get your two numbers locked in first. Eat your protein and stay under your calories, every day. Later, if you want to play with carbs and fats, you can. But you have to build the base first.
Brad has trained with us for two years, and he was consistent in the gym the whole time. He showed up and he put in the work. But he could not lose the fat, and it drove him crazy.
The reason was simple once we looked at it. He was on and off with diets and tracking for a long time. Some weeks he logged his food, some weeks he did not, and even when he tracked he was not catching everything. The little stuff slipped through, and it added up. His effort in the gym was never the problem. His calories were.
Then about six months ago, he locked it in. He honed in on his calories and started tracking every single thing. He hit his protein and stayed under his number. Over those six months, Brad dropped 25 pounds. Same hard work in the gym, just dialed in on the food.
You do not have to figure your numbers out alone. When you come in, we scan you, and that scan gives you your numbers. How much protein you need and how many calories to aim for. No guessing.
Then we track your progress every quarter. We adjust it with you and we keep you honest. A plan, a coach, and people who know your name. That is what makes it stick.
If you are tired of starting over, come see us. Book a free No Sweat Intro. It is just a conversation, with no pressure, and you can even get your two numbers while you are here.
